Robin Wrapped 25

I quit spotify aproximitely in the beginning of 2025, around february. As of writing this post, today was the spotify wrapped 2025 release. Back when I quit spotify, one of the main things that kept me going was wrapped, cause it was cool and I like number big goes up. In 2024 though the one we got was a half assed AI garbage. So I quit. What's stopping me for making my own wrapped for this year? Nothing. So here it is. In this post I will also breakdown my relation with artists and songs.

So let's get started with the genres. This year I started to get more interested with Grindcore after Terrifyer. I listened to that album in December of 2024 and loved it right away. Sludge and Doom are staying strong on their positions, nothing changed there.

The number of the new stuff that I listened to is about 328 songs, which is not a big number but that does not include bought albums, just the discovered albums that I listened digitally on my phone. If we aproximate the length of a single song to be about 5 min, that would be 1640 mins of new music.

Overall this year I bought 38 CDs which is alot. I really just got into this hobby, so i guess i won't buy that much next year, but we'll see.

My favorite album this year is undoubtedly Peace which is the album on the top of the wrapped this year. Definitly listened to the whole thing a dozen of times. Thus the first place in the artists category.

Just recently discovered the sick composition and riffs of Mastodon. First I was impressed by the song Black Tongue for the groove is awesome! Then listened to Hunter and the first half didn't work for me at all, but then it started getting good at All the Heavy Lifting. But what really did it for me was a good deal I found for Crack the Skye at just 15pln. After the first listen I knew this album is really good, but would need to relisten it a few times. Though I knew right away that The Last Baron is the sauce. The whole 13 mins of this song is so good it feels like a 2 min! The intro, the middle and the ending, everything is awesome. Thus the first place on the favorite songs section.

Next in the list is Pig Destroyer. I just listened alot to the songs digitally, nothing else to add here.

But then comes a band that I completely didn't recognize as a favorite of mine until this year - High on Fire. The reason for getting into the band was the second song of the favorite list - Snakes for the Divine which is just a banger. I had this song on my playlist for a long time, and listened to it a lot, but this time I finally checked the album associated. It was pretty nice, but not amazing. Then I gave one more try with Cometh the Storm... and this is the shit man! Loved it a lot. Then I bought Electric Messiah and loved it too. Though my favorite song from them is definitely Snakes for the Divine still.

As for Megadeth, I bought So Far... So good... So what?!, and really liked it. That's about it.
