Mountains holiday 26 - room review

For privacy reasons I will, of course be abstaining from stating the location of the splendid establishment we stayed at.

So let's start by establishing the situation. I and one more person were staying in a room for holidays and so besides doing tourist things, half the fun is the different living condition, thus this post.

This year the room was really comfortable for a few reasons. The biggest improvement from other places we stayed at is for sure the fridge and the kettle. Well of course it existed in the previous years locations but this time the machines where not communal. They were straight up in our room for our and only our pleasure.

This might sound like a small thing but me and the other person are introverts so this thing really hit good. No more slipping the pants on just to go down to the common use kitchen section to boil some water, and risking talking to people... EW!

Other good things include the overall size - the room was perfect, not to small, not to big. The layout of the get go was comfy. Both of the beds were next to each other, but nicely separated, so everyone had their personal space.

Next is the furniture that was a big step up from last year. The usual was present: two chairs, a table, a wardrobe, shitty TV - what else do u need. In addition though there was an extra shelf, which we used to keep some shared food and drink things, like coffee or tea.

What blow us away though were the usability of the wardrobe. Normally its nothing to write home about. This time though as opposed to the usual one section with hangers, it had two sections - the hangers as normal, but also a section with shelves which is way more functional. Normally with one section wardrobe u end up using the floor part to store some things like a backpack or smth. This time though we had more then enough space to store everything, like clothes without getting them yucky, and it was easily accessible.

So now for the bad things for this years room. There are few but exist. So first up the saddest part: no balcony. It is a pleasure to go to the balcony to drink some hot dwink or read a book. This time there was only a communal one, and as stated before as introverts we weren't keen on venturing there.

Next up is the noise of the neighbors, although is nothing to do with the room itself but I just wanted to complain a little.

The second worst thing was for sure the shower. Dont get me wrong, the bathroom was nice in layout, space and looks were just fine. They also supplied us with more towels then needed just in case, which is never a given. The shower was overall nice if not for the precision and wiggling with the temp control for the water. It was kinda a lottery if u burn urself or get cold shower. Sometimes u spend like 5 mins waiting for hot water to kick in. Then u get a burning hot water that hurts, then u change the temperature thing but it doesn't change till u hit more then halfway point, but by then the water is just cold. So u struggle like than for 7-10 mins on bad days to set it up to be aight.

Oh and also the toilet paper holder thing was in a diabolical position. But it was easy to fix by just putting the rolls on a little shelf beside the shitter.

Overall - 8/10
